Exercise and Rambling

Would you believe that it is raining today?! Me either! The weather has been super bizarre this year, summer running late, winter never happened and now it's meant to be summertime and it's been raining! I guess winter came a little late! Ha, not to mention the crazy storms we've had this year! (My back fence fell over, twice! How unlucky is that?)

Well, I've had a pretty quiet few days! Big Man and I have been doing a fair bit of cleaning and organising the house.. And I baked a delicious Cinnamon Teacake with Butterscotch Caramel icing over the weekend, (erm, yum!) and I may have gone slightly overboard buying more crap that I don't need on eBay.. (I actually really DO need those maternity shorts, I can't go through summer without a decent pair of shorts that fit me!) But I definitely know that I spent way too much money. At least I have lots of post to look forward to! Yay for parcels!

Speaking of parcels, I got a new book in the mail today.. It's a daily creativity journal, this one, in fact. It's a supremely good idea, but I'm a little stuck as to what my theme should be, and a little worried that I may not be able to commit for a year, especially with bub being due and Mum duties! I'm definitely willing to give it a try though! (it'll probably take me a year to come up with an idea for my theme!)

Argh! I was going to take a few pictures to upload today, but my lovely brother has locked my camera inside his house! That's what I get for lending it to a bunch of drunken 18 year olds! Perhaps I'll have a squizz through some old pictures that I have on my computer!

Not what I was looking for!!! (I was looking for a picture of my bike, one of my favourite things!) Wow, I cannot believe how little my boy was here! This was around my birthday last year (holy cow, almost a year and a half ago! No wonder he has grown so much - why does time fly?) To think I'm going to have another little one soon! I can't remember what to do! (It's like riding a bike right?!)

Back to bikes, I have a beauty! I bought it after my Pop died, with the money that he left me, so his name is Pop

I love riding him to the beach, it's so good for clearing my head. (What a cliché!) I took him for a spin the other day and managed to get a few funny looks, I guess it's not everyday you see a pregnant lady on a bicycle! My Mum frowns upon it, a LOT, but I read that any exercise you did before you were pregnant you should continue.. and obviously soon I will be too big to even hop on it so I'm taking advantage of it while I still can!!

I have a few friends who are pregnant and due the same time as me, one is two weeks ahead and the other is a month behind. It's so unbelievably lovely to have people pregnant at the same time as you, I have someone to bitch about and sympathise with.. And exercise with! First time around, I didn't have any friends who were pregnant, and I had to go through it all alone while my friends were still going out and hitting the town, non stop partying! This time it's much better!

Little man wants to go and jump on the trampoline, so I'll leave this rambling, pointless post there for now! Be happy everyone!

I don't know about you.

Is there anything better than Vegemite Toast and a Cup of Tea for brekky? I think not. Unless of course it's this song.

Play Dough and Nail Polish

GOOD MORNING LOVERS!

I'm in a supremely good mood this morning, not too sure if it can be attributed to the hazelnut latte, the slight sleep in or the fact that yesterday was so god-awful horrible that there was no way today couldn't have been better already!

I'm trying to upload some photo's from my Instagram for you but I can't figure out how to do it, I may have to plug my phone in, grr! But, to make my morning even better I've finally caught up with Fox in Flats #DAREcember on my Instagram, (I've been lazy and feeling horrible, it's a terrible combination!) AND even better!!! My Revlon Colourstay nail polishes came in the mail this morning! Whoopee! 6 brand new colours and a base and top coat! Mama's giving herself a manicure this arvo, when the terror goes to his Ma and Pop's! (Bliss, a break!)

One HAPPY mama this morning!

So yesterday was horrible, as I already mentioned, Little Man is trying to give up his afternoon nap, (Later Mum, later!) and he definitely is not ready for it because by 4.30 he is a big grumpy mess! But by then it's too late for him to nap because he won't sleep at night, argh! So we set up his little table in the loungeroom and I got the play dough out and we had fun making snails and tea-cups and worms. I also got the chance to watch The Jackal, take my mind off how damn stressed I am at the moment! But then it all went down hill and by the time Big Man got home I was a blubbering mess, (damn you - hormones!) But he did bring me the newest Mollie Makes, and then I had a visit from my favourite DJ, so life was pretty alright by the end of the day.. (as alright as it could be anyway!)

One TIRED and GRUMPY mama. But still ready for fun.

So enjoy your day everyone, and know that mine is still fantastic! (Manicures here I come! Yeeha!)

Weekend Antics

Phew. It's hot! I haven't even opened my curtains today and I can still feel the heat penetrating through, I don't want to turn my air-con on though cause I don't particularly want my electricity bills through the roof just yet! First world problem, I guess! (Another one is that it really, truly is too hot for me to enjoy a cup of tea, slightly devastating!)

I've set Child up outside under the patio with his chalk and chalkboard, and a lovely loud whistle so he can whistle away to his hearts content.. (Might even be loud enough to wake up his lazy Uncle!) And today my plans are to do as much washing as I can! (May as well utilise this super hot sun - don't fade anything please!) Gotta wash the picnic blanket cause it got a bit filthy over the weekend, we went down to a little lake/pond thing and sat under a few trees, it was lovely and relaxing actually! There were ducks (and teenage ducks! In between fully grown and ducklings, they were ADORABLE!) and Ibis's and all sorts of water birds, and we enjoyed a lunch of crackers, cabanossi, cheese and olives, (amongst other things, those are my fave though.) Little Man had fun trying to sneak up on the wildlife and Big Man relaxed and read. It was BLISS.

Then it got really hot, so we decided to come home and watch NCIS, which is pretty much what we did for the rest of the weekend! It's super duper addictive! (And Gibbs reminds me of my Dad, which is actually really funny, because my Dad hates him!)

My crafty project at the moment is a Crocheted Popcorn bag, I'm halfway through, but it's my first time doing any popcorn crochet and I didn't realise how time consuming it is! It's going to look pretty damn good once it's finished though! I got the pattern out of the Panda book; Crochet Modern Vintage (Love, love, LOVE it! So many awesome patterns!)

This is one side completed.. And I've done about two popcorn rows on the second side, I do apologise for the poor quality photo.. I had to turn the flash off because it was reflecting on the handles and it looked terrible, Haha! I also have a couple of other little projects at the moment, but this is the one I'm most excited about, so Happy Monday everyone! I'm off to hang out the next load of washing!

Organisational Difficulties.

Okay! I think I've figured it out.. The "side table" that we scored from the Op Shop is actually a telephone table, that you used to sit on to chat away, with the drawer for your phone book, I think that's about right anyway!

My house is slightly chaotic at the moment, (tea & chaos, have a visit and it's fairly easy to see where I got the name from!!) I'm in dire need of some serious organisation.. The only problem is, is that I have way too much stuff for my own good.. (Is that even possible, YES I think so.) Perhaps I don't really have too many things, I just have terrible organisation (true.) and a lack of storage space (not as true, I just don't use what I do have terribly well.) With another munchkin on the way, I seriously need to get my ass into gear and start doing a big sort, chuck and store, I just can't bring myself to do it, (can someone say, exhausting?!) I have PILES of old baby clothes from when Lukey was little, hoping to re-use them with the next one (fingers crossed for a boy peeps! Find out on the 20th!) and mountains of old cooking magazines that need to find a good home. And it's not just my physical stuff that needs sorting either.. You should check out all my photo's, and my ipod, I even have quadruples of the same songs! Argh! So time consuming, but I promise one day I will be Miss Super Organised Mum with a spotless house and all the time in the world because my home runs so efficiently. A girl can dream right? Well, at least I have the whole weekend ahead of me to get stuck in to it. (I say this every weekend, somehow it never really eventuates..)
If anyone has some good organisational tips I would love to hear them, as long as it doesn't involve throwing away everything I own! (It's my stuff, it's 23 years worth of collecting!)

I hope everyone's got a nice relaxing weekend planned, or perhaps a lovely fun-filled party weekend, it is the silly season after all! Enjoy!

P.S; Don't even get me started on my wool basket.. Which may or may not have overflowed and became a wool corner/floor covered in copious balls of wool. Hmm.

Op-Shop Booty.

Yes yes, I know. I've already posted today.. But my brother and I had such a MASSIVE haul at the op shops I just had to share!

Hopefully I've figured out the photo thing so I can show you some of our goodies!

First of all, my adorable munchkin with a cute milk bottle, I don't use milk bottles but I'm sure I can find a use for it somewhere amongst my house.

Then we managed to score this sweet old side table (?) I think that's what it is.. for only 20 bucks, it's in great condition and little man loves climbing all over it too.. (Obviously minus the various paraphernalia atop it - which we also scored today) some 10 cent tupperware, the clear jar definitely has to be used for mints, just like my pop used to do! And some lovely lamps, (the concertina one for my spare room and the other one, which came as a pair, for my brothers flat.)

We also managed to score a brand new sunbeam pie maker (6 bucks!), an awesome 80's boom box (also 6 bucks, and still works - it's fantastic!) and various items of clothing and shoes etc. Trust me.. it was a BIG haul.. But the win of the day (I think) is....

Our gorgeous cradle! For only $20!! It needs a bit of work, my bro is going to sand it back and re-paint it for me for Christmas, and I will buy a new mattress and make a valance to go around the bars, but I am SUPER excited! It's going to look amazing when it's finished!

Anyway, I'm off to eat dinner (cooked by my awesome partner - curry, yum!) and watch Men in Black 3.. (then maybe a massage later, if I'm lucky! Hint hint..) Enjoy your night err'body!

P.S; Sorry about the crappy photo quality, I was in a hurry.. And sorry about my double-up on titles in my last post.. At least now I know!

Obligatory First Post

Obligatory First Post

Well I guess everyone's got to start somewhere right?
I feel a little odd, I'm not entirely sure what I should be writing, and I realise that most (read: ALL) of this blog will probably be boring as bat-poop to everyone but me, but that's what a blog is for right? Indulging in our own narcissistic fantasies. Cause hey, the universe revolves around me! (Just like yours revolves around YOU!)

So I guess I'm required to say a little bit about myself yes? I'm Hannah, (pleased to meet you, everyone!) and I'm a 23 year old Aussie Mum. (No, I don't work.. Please get your unemployed jokes/condescending comments out of the way now please!) You'd be surprised how often Stay-at-Home Mums get looked down on these days. I CHOSE not to have a career, because I don't want to miss out on anything while my kids are young. (A two year old and another on the way, in case you were wondering.) Once my kids are at school, and out of the house, YES I will go back to work. (I'm not a bum, after all!)

I like my craft. I may not be very good at it (practise makes perfect) but I'm slowly getting there. And it's something I enjoy, so why the hell not. Crochet is my fave. I learnt how to crochet when I was a little girl (thanks Nana!) but I only picked it up again for realsies about 3 years ago, (wanted to make a baby blanket while I was pregnant with my little boy, its still unfinished. HA!) It's a bit of an ongoing joke among my friends how I never see anything through, but in the last year I've finished countless projects, (take THAT, friends!) I guess it comes from having more time on my hands, even though I have a terrible-toddler. I actually can't complain, he really is a little angel for the most part, compared to some of the kids I've met!

I'm addicted to shopping, (along with every other lady on the planet, am I right girls?) But get this, I'm so addicted that I'm currently buying clothes for me to wear AFTER my pregnancy, because I sure as heck won't be fitting in to them now! (I'm only 17 weeks, but I'm already HUGE - second time around you certainly pop a lot earlier!) Side note, I really hate being pregnant. I KNOW it's worth it in the end, but to all those ladies who absolutely love being pregnant/feel so amazing and sexy while they are pregnant, no offence, but YOU CRAZY! There is nothing sexy about a whale tummy that doesn't fit in to any nice clothes, feeling ill all the time, and having the temper of... well, I can't even think of anything short-tempered enough to compare myself to.

Anyway, I know I've waffled on about absolutely nothing important at all, but I need to go and see what my extremely quiet child and dog are up too. (It's never anything good when they are quiet - is it?) Next post I will hopefully figure out how to add some photo's and jazz it up a bit (I might even have something important to say! Who am I kidding.)

Until next time; Live long and Prosper. (Not really a Star Trek fan peeps.)
